Cash

Note: 'Cash' was originally written in 2023 for inclusion in Unbound Publishing's One In Five poverty-themed anthology. Unbound went bust in 2025 at a time coincidental to the book's release. While e-book and contributor copies seem to have been sent out, my understanding is that the pre-ordered paperbacks were never posted, and that the book will never see the inside of a bookshop. With the rights to the piece reverting to me on Unbound's demise, I can't see any reason not to let anyone read the work if they're so minded. Ta.

Unbound / Boundless: RI without much in the way of P

As of today (1st August 2025), Boundless - the successor company to Unbound, who published my novel East of England and who are sat on copies of the One In Five anthology that I'd contributed to - have ceased trading with immediate effect. I've contributed a chapter to an anthology of new writing on experiences of poverty in the UK. My piece is called Cash.

Some free Christmas-set short stories

Most Christmases, the good folk over at Crime Cymru put a callout for members to contribute bits of festive short fiction for the website. I've collected a few of mine here for you. They each feature a recurring character of mine, Dan Matlock, who's the protagonist of East of England.
